UEA is renowned internationally as a centre of excellence in the teaching of Creative Writing. The MA programme, the first of its kind in the country, was founded in 1970 to provide an opportunity for new writers to develop their work within a community of other writers and within a university committed to an engagement with contemporary culture. These themes of innovation, collaboration and the contemporary have remained central to the development of UEA Creative Writing, which now includes MA strands in Prose Fiction, Poetry, Scriptwriting and Lifewriting, as well as a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing and a BA in English Literature with Creative Writing.

The School is now seeking to develop a digital and collaborative platform for the production, discussion and publication of its students’ writing, and this scholarship will be awarded on the basis that you will be actively involved in the management and development of this initiative.
