uk; PhD Studentship (Graduate Teaching Assistant) in Biomechanics

The Sport, Health and Exercise Science group in the School for Health invite applications for a PhD studentship (Graduate Teaching Assistant) in Biomechanics. (~ £15800 per annum with yearly increments plus UK/EU student tuition fees). The Sport, Health and Exercise Science team is responsible for delivering the BSc Sport and Exercise Science, MSc Sport and Exercise Medicine and MSc Sports Physiotherapy at the University of Bath. The team is a young, vibrant and ambitious research based group within the School for Health in one of the best Universities in the United Kingdom.

This is a 4-year studentship starting from 1 March 2010. Each year the applicant will conduct research for a PhD for 75% of the time and demonstrate and mark undergraduate laboratory classes in biomechanics for 25% of the time. The preferred area for research is age related changes in gait with a specific focus on balance and coordination.

The successful applicant must have a good first degree (upper second or first) in Sport and Exercise Science or a related discipline including a strong grounding in biomechanics. Current final year undergraduates or master’s students are eligible to apply. The studentship is available to all EU citizens.
