PhD Position in Pharmacognosy-Swiss

A position for a PhD student in the area of pharmacognosy is available at the School of Pharmaceutical sciences, University of Geneva. The research project aims at testing the anticancer activity of plant extracts and investigating more in depth the mechanisms of pure natural products with a good in vitro activity.

In addition to cell and molecular biology techniques, other approaches will include analytical chemistry and isolation methods. We have a close collaboration with the group of Phytochemistry and bioactive natural products.

Your background

We seek highly motivated candidates with good background in pharmaceutical sciences or biology. Experience in phytochemistry and cell culture techniques is an advantage.

The candidates will work in an international and interactive research environment and therefore good communication skills and the ability to rapidly acquire new skills in scientific disciplines are essential. Fair oral and written skills in French and English are required.

Applicants must hold a degree in pharmaceutical sciences, biology or chemistry (MSc or equivalent) acceptable for enrollment as a PhD student at a Swiss University. Students will have to be admitted to the Graduate School of the School of Pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Geneva.
