Scholarship Description

Tourism Unit, Berwick Campus, is offering a limited number of tourism-based PhD scholarships. Stipend and fee-paying scholarships are available. Topic areas include heritage tourism, sustainable tourism, ecotourism, wildlife tourism, zoo-based tourism, strategic and persuasive communication, destination recovery following natural disasters (inc bushfires), emotional labour in interpretation, health and well-being tourism, destination image, tourism and media/protected areas/higher education, events and event management, tourism branding, tour guiding and nature and cultural interpretation. Current honours students may apply; if successful will be offered a scholarship pending results. All successful applicants will be required to live in Melbourne. Scholarship pays fees or living allowance

This scholarship is offered once only to 4 people. Open for applications from August 24, 2009 until October 30, 2009.
Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD20427 (per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
Research Information

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Tourism. It is required that your study starts no earlier than January 1, 2010 and no later than March 31, 2010.
Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent.
