The MRC Human Immunology Unit (Director Prof. Andrew McMichael) has an excellent opportunity for a Career Development Fellow to join a research group led by Professor Lars Fugger.
The research group is dedicated to provide an understanding of the molecular basis for the MHC class II association in Multiple Sclerosis. The emphasis of the group is to combine functional and structural studies to gain this insight. The successful candidate will develop humanized animal models that express human immune-response genes associated with multiple sclerosis
It is essential that you possess a PhD in a relevant scientific area and have experience in molecular biology. Experience with mouse work and/or experience in neurology and immunology would be desirable. The post requires good communication skills, a flexible and meticulous approach to experimental work, ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, and high levels of enthusiasm and motivation.
This is a 3-year training post and would ideally suit candidates seeking their first post-doctoral position. You will benefit from the MRC Career Development Programme and be expected to attend appropriate training course, some of which are mandatory.
